Melasti Beach - A Hidden Paradise under The Cliff

Melasti Beach with its clear blue water and white sands

One of my Balinese friend once told me that I should go to Melasti Beach because it has spectacular view. Honestly I used to be a person who hate beach. The climate is so hot, i hate how the wind blow into my face and hair, sunburn, etc. But he said that I will regret if I don’t visiting it when I’m in Bali. He told me to search on instagram about Melasti Beach. When I saw it, I must admit the beach is really cool. What made me visiting there was picture of people standing between two huge limestone cliff with background orengish purple sky. It was so beautiful and instagramable hehe. So, I decided to go there on weekend.

I lived in South Denpasar and Melasti Beach located in South Bali. It was one hour driving visa Nusa Dua using motorcycle and about 50 km. Because I didn't know where Melasti is, so I was using waze to guide me there. (Tips : During the trip to somewhere or someplace you don't know, you should install waze or google maps but I prefer waze because I like the feature.) We went through beautiful scenery and the sky was so clear. The road isn’t wide but kinda narrow. You will know you are near Melasti Beach if you pass through a ‘forest’ which is so calming and beautiful. After pass throught the forest, you’ll meet a breaktaking view because you are on top the hill and if you want to reach the beach, you have to go down because the beach is under the cliff. But, I don’t lie it’s beyond beautiful. From top, you can see the ocean view and how blue the sky is.
The road before you arrive at Melasti Beach
Melasti beach isn’t huge and doesn’t has long coastline like Kuta or Jimbaran because the typical beach area of South Bali is cliff without beach (there are beaches but mostly are cliff). When you arrive in Melasti, you’ll know that Melasti’s used to be doesn’t exist because the area is a limestone mine (I thought). Melasti beach has white sands and clear blue sea water. Around the beach you’ll see a huge limestone hiding Melasti from the outside world. What I like from Melasti beach is the location which is isolated so there weren’t many people there when I visited, it’s kinda like my own private beach. And then I remembered the picture which made me wanna go there, but I couldn’t find the exact location and truthfully I was kinda dissapointed. But later I knew (my friend told me), the location is hard to found, well maybe someday when I go to Bali again, I will find that place :)

The combination between the limestone cliff, sands, sea, and sky
Melasti Beach was really enchanting me because it made me speachless. Because of Melasti too, I become so fall in love with beach. Everyweekend in Bali, I always asked my friend to go exploring beach in Bali because the beaches here are really beautiful. If you want to see the enchanting Melasti, I suggest you to go there around summer time (because after I left Melasti, it was raining), also you should bring some drinks and foods because there’re not much food stall and drink stall there and it will be cheaper if you bring by yourself. Don't forget to use sunblock if yoy don’t want to get sunburn. And the most important thing is don’t forget to wear eyecatching and comfortable outfit to get beautiful instagram photos :)

So, if you are now in Bali or has a plan to visit Bali, Melasti Beach should be on your list.
